Suggested community tourism itinerary

Day 1: Mbarara - Isingiro

The hallmarks driver/ guide will pick you from you hotel in Kampala and leave for Mbarara after breakfast. Lunch will be served en route, after lunch continue trip to Isingiro. A beautiful route will take you to a rural farm, where you can experience the traditional way of living. Enjoy the rolling countryside of the Ankole Kingdom and listen to the silence. 

Dinner and overnight at Isingiro Village.

Day 2: Isingiro

The morning starts before day break with milking the long horned Ankole cows. Breakfast is served at the farm, Later we take a short walk to the village.  Experience the lifestyle of these native people. Learn more about where they live, what they eat and their other native habits. In the afternoon you may want to decide to go for a nature walk along the River Kagera, the natural border with Tanzania. The trail leads through undulating hills that overlook the Village. Watch the numerous bird species as you look right into Tanzania. In the evening you can enjoy traditional dancing and singing of a non-professional local group.

Day 3: Isingiro 

Another day of relaxing in the heart of nature, no pollution of any kind- just nature. You may join the herdsmen as they go to the field to graze the cows. You can enjoy the process of turning milk into ghee while sitting within an enchanting traditional hut. You may also choose to visit a local school, have another nature walk or spend a day on an open market to practice your bargaining skills!

Day 4: Isingiro - Kampala

After breakfast we depart Isingiro. Enjoy the magnificent view one more time as we slowly head back. Drive to Kampala with lunch en route as we make more stop overs at; Igongo culture Museum for more literartuere about the social , cultural and tribal norms and values of the Ankole people, make a stop-over at the equator for photography

In the afternoon arrival in Kampala. 

Day 5: Jinja: The day for adventure.

After breakfast we leave the busy town and head towards the east. Jinja is situated 80 km from the Capital city Kampala. In Jinja, the Nile finds its origin. 

En route we will make a stop at Mabira Forest for a nice forest walk with the possibility of seeing different types of primates, birds and colorful butterflies.  A visit at the Source of the Nile, where the famous river Nile starts its journey through Africa, visit the Bujagali Falls : - spectacular waterfalls and a great challenge for rafters! You will have the opportunity to explore the nice centre of Jinja after which we go for white water rafting for an experience of a life time. For those interested in bungee jumping you have an opportunity there. After rafting you will be able to go for a swim, squad biking through the local villages, horse riding, kayaking and walk in the nearby communities (all these are optional, you can choose what suits you).

After the day's activities leave for Kampala.

Day 6: Departure

Time to say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa! Enjoy crafts markets where you can buy souvenirs, have a local dish for lunch and transfer to the airport later in the day.
